The people of Alo Uno community, in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, have reportedly invoked the dreaded Adoro deity against their Obukpa community neighbours and any other person who may trespass into their land.
NATIONAL POST recalls that the Leaders of Alor Uno community, had last week, issued a public warning against the sale of any land belonging to Ugbene Alor Uno Kingdom.
There are now indications that they have taken a step further by invoking the Adoro deity on the land in question.
In a video shared on Facebook by Sen Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, a large crowd of the community members could be seen gathered at the shrine, with invocations being made.
In a post accompanying the post, Chijinkem wrote that the “Adoro Alor deity is a significant part of Alor-Uno's cultural heritage, and its invocation is believed to provide spiritual fortification. The community's actions are driven by a desire to preserve their ancestral land and heritage.
“The dispute over land and boundaries has led to tensions and conflicts, with Alor-Uno seeking to assert its rights and protect its territory.
“In this context, the invocation of the Adoro Alor deity serves as a symbolic expression of the community's determination to defend its land and heritage.”
After invoking the deity and making incantations, canon shots were fired, followed by shouts from those present.
As of the time of filing this report, it is unclear whether the Obukpa community or any other individual has encroached into the land in question.
