A video currently trending online is attracting outrage as Nigerians are shown bruises inflicted on a pupil by her teacher.
The incident, which coincided with the World Teachers’ Day, is said to have happened at a private school in Abakpa Nike, in Enugu State.
The traumatized mother of the child could be heard wailing in the video and demanding that the teacher be produced.
While a voice was telling her to calm down, numerous angry Nigerians kept shouting, ‘bring the teacher’.
According to the woman, “I was in my house, somebody called me on phone, that I should come and carry my child from the school.
“That one of the teachers flogged my child to the point my child is no longer walking. I want to show you people my baby’s wound.”
“Are you people seeing it,” she said in tears, adding “can you people see what a teacher did to my child.”
Demanded continued in the video that the teacher must be provided to face justice.
As of the time of filing this report, there is not reaction yet, either from the school or the Enugu State Minister of Education.
