A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Joe Igbokwe has described the emerging reports that former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and ex-presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi will run on a joint ticket, as an act of desperation.
There are reports that Atiku and Obi held a meeting outside the country where they struck a deal for a single tenure.
It indicated that Atiku will only do one tenure, with Obi as his running mate.
But reacting, Igbokwe said it would not work.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Monday, the APC chieftain declared that the alignment will not fly, stressing that it cannot sell.
He wrote, "Alhaji Atiku Abubakar childish and primitive deal with Labour Party is laughable and kindergarten.
"It is an act of desperation. It cannot fly and it cannot sell".
