A post by Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, about the death of the old version of him got fans worried.
The singer had admonished those struggling to accept the new version of him, asserting that the old version was dead.
However, this was misunderstood by many fans to mean that the singer is dead.
It all started when Burna Boy shared a post on his official Instagram page of his upcoming album, 'No Sign Of Weakness,' blamed Nigerians for "killing" the old version of him.
He wrote, "The 'African Giant' Burna Boy died. His own people killed him. Then 'Big 7' was born to protect what was left of 'Burna Boy.'
"Burna Boy and Big 7 fight each other a lot because while Big 7 is only protecting the final and only existing piece of Burna Boy's broken heart, the 'African Giant' still haunts Burna Boy."
As soon as the post dropped, many fans who mistook it, flooded the internet making enquiries about his safety.
However, Burna Boy is hale and hearty as the post has nothing to do with his health.
Rather, he was referring to his music style.
