The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has rubbished the reported agreement it reached with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
PDP told Wike to stop unnecessary drama.
It said any agreement between Wike and his circle of friends should not be interpreted to mean that of the party.
NATIONAL POST recalls that Wike on Sunday declared a fresh battle against the party for violating what he listed as terms of agreement.
He listed them to include:
"That Senator Samuel Anyanwu remains the National Secretary of the PDP in tandem with the Supreme Court judgement.
"All legal matters relating to Rivers State must be withdrawn by the National Legal Adviser.
"The suit on the State of emergency be withdrawn forthwith.
"Nobody should deviate from the agreements so reached."
Wike said all the terms had been breached by the party.
But the National Financial Secretary of the party, Daniel Woyengikuro, said that the PDP had no involvement in any deals made by Wike.
“What agreements are we talking about? Wike had agreements with his friends, not with the party.
"Those names he mentioned — are they the party? The party was not involved in any agreements he made. We have no knowledge of such agreements,” he stated.
Woyengikuro harped on the need for the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, which is its highest decision-making organ apart from the convention — to convene and address the growing disputes.
“The NEC will address any issues. This isn’t a physical fight or a man-to-man confrontation. All this unnecessary drama is uncalled for,” he added.
