Popular activist, Aisha Yesufu has declared that she will never accept any national honours from the President Bola Tinubu administration.
A list went viral Friday evening, containing names of other Nigerians said to have been honoured by President Tinubu.
Yesufu’s name was one of them.
And it began generating controversy, with an X user, writing: "It’s your own Aisha Yesufu. It is a reward for years of supporting the APC. You have Tinubu to thank. Buhari ignored you despite voting and supporting him. But Tinubu has rewarded you. Thank him and stop being an ingrate."
Responding quickly, the activist, a fierce critic of the Tinubu administration, fired back: "God forbid!
"It can never be this Aisha Yesufu. Thank you"
Meanwhile, the presidency has disowned the list.
Temitope Ajayi, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity describes it as fake news.
“It should be ignored," he stated.
NATIONAL POST reports that Aisha Yesufu is an ardent follower of Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
She has continued to insist that Obi won the 2023 presidential election but was rigged out.
