National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje has reportedly resigned.
His resignation letter was made available on Friday.
No detail has been given for the development as of the time of filing this report.
He attributed his decision to health concern.
A former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad also confirmed Ganduje's resignation.
Ahmad wrote on his X handle: "The National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has resigned from his position, effective immediately, as confirmed by multiple sources."
Prior to Ganduje’s resignation, his personal belongings were moved from his office at the APC national secretariat.
Apart from allegations of financial impropriety, Ganduje was also accused of mishandling the FCT Area Council primary election.
Some aspirants were said to have complained of heavy financial demands place on them as a condition to get the APC ticket.
NATIONAL POST reports that the development has thrown party members into shock.
One of the National Vice Chairmen of the party is expected to replace him in the interim.
