By

There was pandemonium in Benue State on Friday as final year students of Gyutiev Model College Saghev Ward, Guma LGA, Benue went wild over what they called fraudulent action of the school principal.

The angry students, who were uncontrollable, reportedly set ablaze the house of the principal, Mr. Isaac Yina.

The rampaging students claimed that the principal failed to register them for the 2025 National Examinations Council, NECO, even after collecting N85,000 from 178 students.

The development is said to have sparked tension in the area.

One of the students told journalists that "we paid N85,000 each for the NECO examination, but to our greatest shock, the principal did not register us.

"It is very disheartening and unbelievable. What will our parents say after coughing out this humongous amount."

As of the time of filing this report, the school authority and the police are yet to issue any comment.
