Four persons are feared dead and 21 others injured on Friday, when a vehicle stepped on suspected Improvised Explosive Device, (IED).
The incident occurred along Katarko-Goniri Road in Gujba local government area of Yobe State.
Reports indicated that the victims mostly from the Gotala Community, were on their way to the popular Buni-Yadi market.
According multiple sources the corpses of the four persons killed in the explosion had been taken home for burial while the injured ones are receiving medical treatment at the Specialist Hospital and Yobe State University Teaching Hospital Damaturu, respectively.
The Gotala community is located at the fringes of the Sambisa forest where the suspected Boko haram insurgents have been operating for the over a decade.
As of the time of filing this report, the military and the police are yet to issue any statement on the reported incident.
