Natasha a content creator, remains suspended - Senate

Nigerian Senate says the suspended Kogi Central lawmaker, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, will not yet be recalled.

According to the parliament, the female lawmaker remains suspended until it resumes from recess in two months’ time.

This was disclosed by the spokesman for the red chamber of the National Assembly, Yemi Adaramodu.

The Senator, who featured on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television, also said Natasha was creating content.

NATIONAL POST recalls that Natasha tried to force way into the Senate on Tuesday but was stopped by security operatives.

According to her, the action was in line with a court order which she said nullified her suspension.

But the Senate has continued to say there is no order of court to that effect.

Speaking on Tuesday, Adaramodu said: "The Senate and National Assembly as a whole has a role to play.

“We are legislators; we are not spectators, watching skit making and content creation.

“Initially, the content had been created and it's degenerating into seasoned films.

"The Senator is still suspended, and it will remain so till the Senate resumes back from recess in two months.”
