Another PDP gov joining us soon - Sule

By

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has hinted that another governor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is on his way to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Sule said this as he dismissed the coalition-inspired African Democratic Congress, ADC.

He spoke on Sunday, when he appeared on 'Politics Today'', a programme on Channels Television.

There has been a big move of opposition politicians from the PDP to the APC, with the ADC alleging that some governors were being coerced into joining the ruling party.

However, Sule said the APC was only strategizing to counter the moves by the ADC.

“Yes, we have discussed. And it is not something, actually, that I will disclose here. You know, as they are planning, we are planning.

“We are in politics. We’re not just sitting down watching them plan. So as they plan, we plan. And at the end of the day, the better plans will take over.

“We keep getting more and more governors from the PDP joining us. Very soon, you will hear another governor joining us.

“You hear every day about senators decamping and coming back to the APC. Every day. These are all part of the plans—they’re not happening just by magic," he said.

Ever since the ADC was adopted, no governor has openly identified with the party.

National spokesman of the party, Mr Bolaji Abdullahi said the governors were afraid of a clampdown from the ruling government.

Meanwhile, there has been rumours that the governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, the only PDP governor in the South-East, is on his way to the APC.

Mbah and other South-East PDP leaders are unhappy over the treatment of the zone by the national leadership of the party, especially on the issue involving the choice of PDP National Secretary.
