Former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi has rated late former president, Muhammadu Buhari better than incumbent President, Bola Tinubu.
Amaechi served under the Buhari administration.
During a chat on an X space titled: “Weekend Politics”, on Saturday, he declared that Buhari’s government was “100 times better” than Tinubu’s current administration.
He hinged his stand on the current economic downturn.
“Buhari’s government is 100 times better than Tinubu’s government. For Christ’s sake, were you dying of hunger? What we pay here is N1 million every week for power (N4 million in a month).
“How many people can afford that? Then you have to buy diesel of about N300,000 aside feeding and staff salary,” Amaechi said.
He went on to lament the current situation, asserting that Nigerians were better off under the previous administration than they are under Tinubu’s leadership.
“But it was not like that when Buhari was in power. Why are we comparing diamond to gold? In fact, this government is not even gold at all,” he added.
NATIONAL POST earlier reported that Amaechi claimed that Peter Obi of the Labour Party won Rivers State during the 2023 presidential election.
He also gave the condition to support another person as the presidential candidate of the ADC for the 2027 polls.
