Residents of Anambra State and some parts of Enugu State are going to experience power outage tomorrow, Sunday and Monday, September 1, 2025.
This was announced by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) in a statement issued on Saturday by Mr Emeka Ezeh, the Group Head, Corporate Communications.
Those affected, according to Ezeh are customers in Anambra State and well as Oji River and adjoining communities in Enugu State.
He said the planned outage is scheduled for Sunday, 31st August, 2025, to Monday, 1st September, 2025, between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00pm daily.
“This exercise is necessary to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) maintenance crew replace faulty overhead stack porcelain insulators at its 330kV switch yard in Awada.
“Consequently, electricity supply to customers in the affected areas will be interrupted during the maintenance period,” Ezeh announced.
The Disco expressed regret over the inconvenience the outage may cause.
‘We appeal for our customers’ understanding, as the exercise is aimed at improving and enhancing the quality of service,” Ezeh further stated.
