Natasha will resume plenary, suspension expired - Lawyer

By

Lawyer to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has revealed that she is set to resume her legislative duties.

The Senate is expected to resume plenary on September 23 after its annual recess.

This comes as the Kogi Senator’s suspension also ends this September.

Her lawyer, Victor Giwa, has now confirmed that with the expiration of the six-month suspension, the female lawmaker will resume her duties.

“Actually, she’s ready to resume her term. She’s in London. Everything is in place, and the six months have expired. The only thing left is her resumption,” Giwa told PUNCH.

NATIONAL POST recalls that Natasha was suspended for six months following a brawl at the Senate when her seat was relocated.

She later went on to level accusations against the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Natasha has made two unsuccessful attempts to resume plenary in the past.
