Detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will on Friday, September 26, 2025 know his fate in the terrorism case filed against him by the Nigerian Government.
This is as the Federal High Court, Abuja, fixed the date to rule on the no case submission made by Kanu.
The ruling was previously scheduled for October 10.
One of the Kanu's lawyers, Aloy Ejimakor, made this known in a post on his X handle on Monday.
"The scheduled ruling on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s no-case submission has been abridged from 10th October 2025 to Friday, 26th September 2025," he wrote.
A court notification about the slated hearing stated that if either party desires to postpone the hearing he must apply to the Court as soon as possible for that purpose.
It, however, added that such application if based on any matter of fact, must be backed up with proof of facts.
NATIONAL POST reports that Kanu has been in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, ever since he was arrested in Kenya and repatriated to Nigeria.
Last week, Kanu had filed an appeal before a vacation judge seeking to be transferred out of the DSS custody over health concerns
However, the judge returned the case file to the Chief Judge, citing the timeline for the vacation court.
