Tinubu meets Fubara behind closed doors at Aso Villa

By

President Bola Tinubu on Monday evening entered a closed-door session with Rivers State governor, Sir Sim Fubara, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Governor Fubara, dressed in a crisp white caftan and black cap, arrived at the nation’s seat of power around 6:20 p.m., marking his first encounter with the President since his six-month suspension was lifted and the state of emergency in Rivers ended on September 18, 2025.

Recall that President Tinubu had, in a March 18 broadcast, declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspended the democratic structures, and appointed a sole administrator to run the state’s affairs.

As of press time, officials had not disclosed the agenda of today’s meeting.

Fubara resumed duty last week following the end of the state of emergency.
