The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has suspended Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.
According to the party, the Senator representing Abia South was suspended for claiming to be a leader of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
State Chairman of APGA in Abia, Sunday Onukwubiri, who confirmed the suspension, said it was indefinite.
A decision to suspend the Senator was taken during the party’s State Executive Council meeting.
APGA said Abaribe was earlier given the opportunity to denounce his reported leadership of ADC, but he never did.
According to the party, a 24-hour ultimatum which was given to him had since elapsed.
As of the time of filing this report, Abaribe has not reacted to the suspension.
