Abia: Gov Otti reacts to ‘turning Lagos to village comment’

By

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State distanced himself from a viral report wherein he was quoted to have said that he will turn Lagos State into a village.

In the said statement, Otti was quoted as saying that he had no business with Lagos and also that he would make the city look like a village.

NATIONAL POST recalls that the trending report was tagged "Governor Otti fires back at over demolition of Igbo businesses.”

Otti was quoted saying: "I have no business with Lagos, I am not competing with Lagos. My competition is China and Dubai.

“By the time I'm done with Abia, Lagos will look like a village".

However, a statement released by Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Special Adviser to Governor Otti on Media and Publicity, has described the statement as false, baseless and unfounded propaganda issued by angry and frustrated politicians.

Ekeoma in the statement issued on Sunday said that his principal detests garrulous and childish showmanship.

He said that Abia Governor could not have made a statement that  bears the signature of arrogance, thoughtlessness and divisiveness.

"Given the relationship which has become an unbreakable bond that has existed between Governor Otti and his brother Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for decades, speaking to the Governor directly off camera on any subject matter is one of the easiest things to do," he said.

He alleged that authors of the fake news were the same desperate politicians that wrote petitions and inciting articles immediately they learnt that President Bola Tinubu was coming to commission some projects in Abia.
