The Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, has resigned following some allegations of certificate forgery against him.
Nnaji has been a centre of negative news following allegations of forging his degree as well as NYSC discharge certificates.
Both the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, and the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, disowned the certificates he has been parading.
As pressure mounted on President Bola Tinubu to sack him, he resigned on Tuesday.
President Tinubu's media aide Bayo Onanuga who confirmed the resignation in a statement, said the president has accepted the Minister's decision.
According to Onanuga, Tinubu has "accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following some allegations against him.
"President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023.
"He resigned today in a letter thanking the President for allowing him to serve Nigeria.
"Nnaji said he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents.
"President Tinubu thanked him for his service and wished him well in future endeavours".

PRESIDENT TINUBU ACCEPTS RESIGNATION OF GEOFFREY NNAJI AS MINISTER
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following some allegations against him.
