VIDEO: Ibom Air passenger arrested aboard for stealing

By

There was a mild drama on an Ibom Air flight after a passenger reported that his money was missing.

As alarm went on, passengers on the Uyo-to-Abuja flight were delayed for a search.

The suspect, who boarded the flight from Uyo, was caught in the act by the cabin crew after suspicions were raised.

A viral video circulating on social media Thursday captured the moment the accused was escorted off the aircraft by a flight attendant, as other passengers mocked him over the incident.

A social media post detailing the event stated: “This man, who was a passenger on Ibom Air heading to Abuja, stole some money belonging to a fellow passenger.

“Reports have it that the passenger placed his hand luggage in the overhead. On landing, the passenger, a white man, was about to pick up his bag only to notice that it had been tampered with and his cash was missing.

“He raised an alarm which attracted the attention of other passengers. A vigilant lady said she saw the man sitting across her row moving the bag, and she felt it was his.

“That triggered suspicion, the man denied it. But an immediate search was conducted on him and the large sum was found in his possession. He was arrested by security agents.”

Although as of the time of the report Ibom Air has not released an official statement.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command is also yet to react to the report.
