PDP crisis: We’ll take action during NEC meeting - Bode George

By

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Chief Bode George, has declared that the party will take a firm stand against those sabotaging its interests.

There have been calls on the party supremacy to expel the likes of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who openly worked against the party during the 2023 presidential election.

Wike has also openly declared that he would work for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027.

He made a surprise appearance during the party's recently held stakeholders' meeting with the Governors' Forum.

George has now said the party would take some firm decisions during the National Executive Council,  NEC, meeting later this month.

According to him, most politicians in the party were only interested in their personal gain and showed little or no interest in the wellbeing of the people.

He made the assertion while appearing on Speaking on Channels Television Sunday Politics.

He said, "As politicians, is it only for their own personal gain that they are looking at, What about the impact?

"What is democracy? It's all about the management of the resources of the land for the benefit of the people. That is not what they have done now.

"And I am hoping that by the 27th of this month we will meet in closed doors and tell ourselves some home truths.

"Those who cannot abide by the rules and regulations of the party, we can throw them out of the party.

"The NEC has the authority and the powers to do that. We should tell ourselves some serious home truths, and come back to the position as laid down by the founding fathers of our party."
