Aninri LG takes lead in mobilizing for Gov Mbah’s re-election, hails unprecedented development

By

The People of Aninri Local Government Area have vowed to work assiduously towards the re-election of Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah come 2027.

According to them, they have benefited immensely from the disruptive development initiatives of the governor.

Speaking at the Inauguration of a support group, Tomorrow is Here Movement Aninri Chapter, at the Council Headquarters, Ndeabor, they maintained that the achievements of the governor had endeared him to the people and created an undiluted trust that would be difficult to change.

Addressing the crowd, which included all the major stakeholders in Aninri, the Coordinator, Tomorrow is Here Movement Aninri Chapter, Hon Engr Emmanuel Okoro (Elder statesman) commended the Governor for earning the trust of the people through hard work, noting that Aninri people will reciprocate by making his re-election seamless.

Hon Okoro, who is known for his wide experience in grassroots mobilization, boasted that the Local Government will again record the highest number of support to the governor come 2027.

"We did it in 2023 and came first across the State. We will do it again.

“It is like a tradition in Enugu State for performing governors to go for second term and here he has even surpassed expectations of many.

“Again, his re-election is the shortest road for somebody from Enugu West to become the governor.

“So, you have seen why it is our project and we must make it work.

“Look at the Smart Green Schools in every political ward; the 260 Type 2 Hospitals, the revitalization of morribond assets in the State, such as the International Conference Center, Enugu, Hotel Presidential, the Flour Mill and a host of others.

“Think about the Enugu Air as well as the ongoing road construction across the State.

“I can continue on and on. So, my job as the Coordinator is to bring to the knowledge of my people, the magic the governor is doing across the State.

“In fact, Aninri is not fertile for any other ambition other than that of Peter Mbah," he declared.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Barr. Lyold Ekweremadu and the Chairman, Aninri Local Government Area, Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku stated that other States have become envious of Enugu State as a result of the unprecedented development going on and stressed the need for its sustainability.

A former Council Chairman in the area, Chief Ben Aliukwu and a former lawmaker, Hon Chinedu Okwu Utaka maintained that the leadership and members of the support group were carefully selected to ensure that no stone is left unturned, stating that the political bond and unity in Aninri had made it impossible for other political parties to penetrate since 1999.

In a remark, the State Coordinator, Tomorrow is Here Movement, Chief Tony Okonkwo, while inaugurating the Aninri Chapter of the support group, commended the political discipline among the people and charged them to remain steadfast in their decision.

"We are here to bring the news of the achievements of our dear Governor, Dr Peter Ndubisi Mbah to the people of Aninri but we are surprised to notice that they were fully aware.

“We are happy because it is very rare to see this kind of political awareness and unity of purpose as demonstrated by Aninri people today.

“Our observation is that Aninri is happy with the administration of Governor Peter Mbah and have promised to redouble their support for him.

“You can see that they are the ones mentioning what the governor has done in the area and not we telling them," he noted.
