A young man, identified as Ikechukwu Nna, has stabbed his mother, Ngozi Nwulu to death.
The incident occurred in Obohia Ndoki in Ukwa East local government area of Abia State.
Reasons for his action remain unknown but the police confirmed that he stabbed the mother with a knife on her neck.
The victim, who was rushed to Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, was confirmed dead at the hospital.
The Commissioner of Police, Abia State, Command, CP Danladi Isa made this known at his office during a press briefing at Police Command's Headquarters, Umuahia.
He said that officers from Akwete Divisional Headquarters leveraged on credible intelligence to apprehend the suspect, noting that investigation is ongoing at State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Umuahia.
