A serving lawmaker, Hon. Denty Laven has been abducted by gunmen.
The victim is a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, representing Pankshin South Constituency.
According to AIT, the lawmaker was abducted Monday night from his home at Dong area of Jos North LGA.
Meanwhile, a family member, who spoke on the condition of anonymity on Tuesday morning, said Hon. Jacob was abducted when he came home from an outing with some friends.
The family member said the kidnapers must have trailed the lawmaker right from the venue of his rendezvous with his friends because the moment the gateman opened his gate for him to drive him, the criminals alighted from their vehicle and while brandishing sophisticated weapons, bundled him into the vehicle and drove away.
"As we speak, the abductors of Hon. Denty Laven Jacob have not reached out to the family to make any ransom demand and we do not know anything about his condition at the moment," the family member told Daily Post.
Plateau State has continued to suffer attacks from bandits.
Governor of the State, Caleb Mutfwang has been advocating for state police to curb the menace.
