Condemnations are trailing the lyrics of the song rendered by popular fuji musician, Taye Currency at the coronation ceremony of Oba Rashidi Ladoja.
It could be recalled that at a well attended ceremony on Friday, Oba Rashidi Ladoja was installed as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan land.
President Bola Tinubu was among the dignitaries that graced the occasion.
Taye Currency, who was the guest performer, triggered backlash following his song lyrics, "were la fi n wo were" meaning (We used insanity to cure insanity).
This has generated controversy, pushing the musician to the top trends on X platform.
Here are some of the reactions:
Chief Lagos: Werey la fi’wo werey na song? Nonsense
Tunbosun: Total Embarrassment to his family... NOT Ibadan people.
On coronation day?
Olarenwaju: Who gave him mic to sing this rubbish in coronation
Femi Anjorin: …and this is your measure for good music , for an Oba and on a coronation day?
