Hours after it announced that it would no longer sell Premium Motor Spirit in Naira, Dangote Refinery rescinded the decision.
Earlier in the day, the refinery had announced that it would now sell the product in dollars.
It said the latest development was owing to the intervention of the Federal Government.
This was disclosed in an email to customers.
"Dear Valued Customer, following the intervention of the Naira for Crude Technical Committee chairman, we are pleased to inform you of the resumption of PMS sales in Naira commencing immediately.
"You may kindly proceed to place your orders in Naira for both self-collection and free delivery of PMS to the earlier advised location(s) across the country.
"Thank you for your continued patronage. Warm regards, Group Commercial Operations.
"For: Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE", the statement reads.
NATIONAL POST reports that the news is a relief for Nigerians who were already bracing up for a hike in fuel price.
Meanwhile, Dangote Refinery had earlier cried out to the Nigerian Government after the oil workers under the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, announced a shutdown of crude oil supply to the facility.
It described the development as "criminal", urging the government to intervene.
