1. Dangote Refinery, on Saturday, made U-turn hours after it announced that it would no longer sell Premium Motor Spirit in Naira. It said the latest development was owing to the intervention of the Federal Government. This was disclosed in an email to customers, where it declared that it had resumed the sale of the commodity in Naira.
2. Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested Precious Oruche, aka Mama P, a key promoter of Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023. Her arrest is in connection with the airport brawl involving her and the factional National Chairman of LP, Julius Abure.
3. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, has declared a nationwide. It directed all its members in various offices, companies, institutions, and agencies to cease all services starting at 12:01 AM on Monday, September 29, 2025. This resolution, which is amid the face-off with Dangote Refinery, was contained in a statement following the Association's National Executive Council, NEC, meeting on Saturday.
4. Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, on Saturday, claimed that Ndigbo are no longer Obidient, a popular name for supporters of Mr Peter Obi. Umahi also said the zone made a mistake in voting for Obi in 2023 and that they would not repeat the mistake in 2027, but vote for President Bola Tinubu.
5. Despite the cancellation of the People Democratic Party, PDP, State Congress scheduled in Cross River State, the process went on. This is in defiance of the order of the party’s National Working Committee, NWC. Those behind the Saturday’s congress are believed to be in the camp of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
6. The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has announced the indefinite suspension of Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe. According to the party, the Senator representing Abia South was suspended for claiming to be a leader of the African Democratic Congress, ADC. His suspension was confirmed by the State Chairman of APGA in Abia, Sunday Onukwubiri.
7. At least 13 persons have been reported dead after a mining site collapsed in Kadauri village, Maru Local Government Area, Zamfara State. Others are said to be missing as of the time of filing this report, survivors said.
8. The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has announced that its members would effect a petrol price hike nationwide as Dangote Refinery suspended sales of petrol in Naira. The National President of IPMAN, Abubakar Maigandi, disclosed this on Saturday, hours before the Dangote Refinery made a U-turn on the sale of petrol in dollars.
9. Yobe State Police Command said it has arrested a serial rapist. According to the command, the 19-year-old suspected serial rapist, Dahiru Ali, specialised in luring his victims with candies. He was involved in the alleged defilement of a three-year-old girl in the Mutawassada area of Potiskum.
10. The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has raised the alarm that criminals are using his image to defraud Nigerians. Obi, in a post on his X handle, said he has no hand in any of his AI-generated images used for product advertisement and endorsement.
