The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has announced the postponement of its 103rd National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting.

A statement on Monday night, signed by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the party’s National Publicity Secretary announced the decision.

NATIONAL POST reports that the meeting was scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

The party said the NEC meeting was postponed owing to current developments.

It said, “in view of recent developments in the Party, the National Working Committee (NWC) in exercise of its powers pursuant to Section 29 (2)(b) of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017) has at its emergency meeting on Monday, 13th October, 2025 approved the postponement of the 103rd NEC meeting to a new date that will be communicated to members in due course.

“All NEC members should please note the postponement and be guided accordingly.”

This comes amid a series of defections which hit the party in the past few days.

The climax will be the defection of Enugu State Governor, Barr Peter Mbah to the All Progressives Congress, APC, today, Tuesday.

At least two other governors are also said to be on verge of dumping the party in the next few days.

A member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Sadiq Abdullahi, also on Monday announced his resignation from the opposition party. Representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, Abdullahi cited the party’s deepening internal conflicts and “loss of direction” as the primary reasons for his departure.

Meanwhile, the party is still grappling with the role of its National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu who is believed to be doing the bidding of Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
