'PDP now directionless' - Reps member dumps party

By

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), blaming internal crisis and divisions within the party for his decision.

Abdullahi is representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency.

In a letter dated October 13, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Hanwa Ward, Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Abdullahi said the prolonged infighting in the party had made it difficult for him to properly represent his constituents.

“The persistent internal conflicts and factionalisation within the PDP, which have culminated in a prolonged party crisis, are adversely affecting my ability to effectively represent my constituency,” he wrote.

He explained that the decision came after wide consultations with key stakeholders and political associates, describing it as a tough but necessary move.

According to him, his resignation was based on a commitment to serve the people of Sabon Gari beyond party politics and ensure inclusive and effective representation.

Abdullahi thanked the PDP for the platform and support given to him, noting that his experience in the party was valuable and memorable.

Hon. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi currently serves as the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
