Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, committed a serious gaffe after he attended the defection rally organised to receive Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State.
The governor was among the dignitaries who were in Enugu to receive Mbah into the All Progressives Congress.
NATIONAL POST recalls that Mbah dumped the PDP alongside his immediate predecessor, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
However, after the event, Sanwo-Olu wrote on his social media page that he attended a gubernatorial campaign rally in Enugu.
The now deleted post read: “Today, I joined Governor Peter Mbah in Enugu for the APC gubernatorial campaign rally, alongside fellow APC governors and party members, to connect with the people and demonstrate our shared commitment to progress and good governance.”
The post immediately generated reactions, with many netizens wondering whether he did not know the exact event he attended in Enugu.
He later made another post which read: “Today, I joined fellow governors of the All Progressives Congress along with other party leaders and members, to warmly welcome Governor Peter Mbah as he formally joined our great party.
“His decision to align with our progressive vision reflects the growing confidence in our party’s ideals, leadership, and commitment to national development.”
