Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ibas, has charged political actors not to use politics to destroy Rivers State.
Ibas spoke ahead of the return of Governor Sim Fubara after his six months suspension.
He urged political actors in the state to sheath their swords and put away partisan politics in the interest of the state.
The Sole Administrator made the call during an interdenominational thanksgiving service organised by the Rivers Government at the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt.
Fubara, who was suspended by President Bola Tinubu six months ago is expected to resume on Friday following the completion of the suspension.
Speaking at the church service, Ibas said: "I make a special appeal to our political actors; sheathe your swords.
"Politics must never be an excuse to destroy the very state you are called to serve. The progress and prosperity of Rivers must be placed against personal or partisan interest.
“Rivers state cannot afford another session of division and acrimony."
Meanwhile, NATIONAL POST reports that both Fubara and his estranged political godfather, Nyesom Wike, were absent at the event.
