Attorney General of Enugu State and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, has been applauded for his outstanding performances and contributions to the justice sector, which also helped in his elevation to the country’s Inner Bar.
Recall that in July 2025, 57 legal luminaries were nominated for elevation into Nigeria’s Inner Bar and were sworn in on Monday in Abuja by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.
The Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, Architect Chibuikem Onyekachi Emmanuel, made this known on Wednesday through his congratulatory message sent to newsmen in Enugu, in celebration of Dr. Udeh’s elevation to Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
He stated that the honour reflects Dr. Udeh’s dedication to legal excellence, his passion for Enugu State, and the reforms he has led since assuming office as Attorney General in 2023.
He also stated that the new SAN has worked to open up the justice system through community mediation centers, digital handling of court records, and the passage of modern laws that drive development in the state.
He posited that Dr. Udeh has overseen the preparation of over 18 bills, with 15 already passed into law, covering areas such as electricity regulation, land administration, environmental safety, and property rights, while also introducing the Witness Trust Fund to protect fair trials and strengthen the credibility of the criminal justice process in Enugu State.
According to Architect Onyekachi, beyond Dr. Udeh's official duties, he is celebrated as a scholar and mentor whose academic journey from the University of Nottingham to Stellenbosch University has shaped his contributions in public law and governance; adding that his recognition as SAN places him among Nigeria’s most respected legal minds and reinforces the growing influence of Enugu in the country’s justice system.
Architect Chibuikem also praised Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for the opportunity presented to Dr. Udeh to further showcase his capabilities, while also praying for continual blessings for his growth.
He reiterated the commitment of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd in supporting the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, describing him as a world-class leader.

I congratulate my big brother and strong confidant, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh SAN, Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Enugu State, on his elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
This honour shows his love for God, his passion for Enugu State, and his pursuit of excellence in the legal profession. It is also an acknowledgement of the great work he has done in reforming the justice sector and making it more open to the people.
Since his appointment in 2023, Dr. Udeh has led important reforms, as he guided the passage of many new laws, revived mediation centers across the state, and introduced new measures to speed up justice delivery. He also promoted the digital handling of court processes to make justice more efficient and fair.
Under his watch, the Enugu State Ministry of Justice has prepared over 18 bills, with 15 already passed into law. These cover areas like electricity regulation, land administration, environmental safety, and property rights. He also announced the creation of a Witness Trust Fund to support fair trials and protect the integrity of the justice process, an idea that will make Enugu a reference point in excellent judicial procedures.
Dr. Udeh is a public law scholar with an LL.D. from Stellenbosch University, who has taught law in Nigeria and abroad, advised global organizations as a procurement consultant, and served in different public roles before his appointment as Attorney General. His knowledge of law and governance has shaped policies that improve both justice and development in Enugu State.
He is respected not only as a lawyer but also as a teacher, mentor, and reformer. By his example, many young people now see the law as a tool for service and progress. His rise to the rank of SAN is a clear sign of his influence in the legal community and public service, as well as a reward for his sterling efforts in the legal profession.
