Fubara appoints new Rivers SSG

By

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has appointed Benibo Anabraba as the new Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG).

The appointment was announced in a statement on Monday, signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Kuru Sirawoo.

According to the statement, Anabraba will be sworn in by Governor Fubara on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., in the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt.

Guests are expected to be seated by 3:30 p.m.

Anabraba succeeds Tammy Danagogo, who served as SSG from the beginning of Fubara’s administration until March 18, 2025, when President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State following the political crisis in the state.

Since the lifting of the state of emergency on September 17, 2025, Danagogo has been noticeably absent from government activities.

Although he stood by Governor Fubara during the height of the political turmoil, the current state of his relationship with the governor remains unclear following his replacement as SSG.
